37/52 (Christmas 2015)

Taken on Christmas

Taken on Christmas
I'm the absolute worst about taking pictures, so I only have a few reminders of Christmas. It's always jam packed with lots of events every year, and this year was no different. Charlotte did really well handling all of the stimulation and liked getting all sorts of presents! She got so many, a play kitchen, lots of baby dolls, puzzles, books, clothes. I think her favorite present was her Elmo doll, she's obsessed with him.

Ha I love this picture. It's easy to only share pictures that make everything look perfect all the time, and anyone with kids (and without kids too) knows that's not always real. This picture is real, CJ had reached the end of her rope and was ready to go.

34/52 (Halloween)

A lot sure has changed since last Halloween when CJ was barely a month old. Last Halloween she still wasn't very good at nursing and I just got so much anxiety taking her out anywhere because what if she got hungry and I had to try, and possibly fail, at nursing her in public?? I kind of had an irrational fear of her being hungry and me not being able to feed her, it took a while to get over that.

This Halloween she was walking all over the place! She loved seeing all of the other kids while trick or treating and saw a few puppies which are her favorite.

23/52 4th of July

39 weeks
Charlotte was so festive for her first 4th of July! We spent the day at my brother's house with a few of Charlotte's little baby cousins. Poor Miles, surrounded by women.

Look at all these cuties! There are pictures of all of my cousins crowded together on couches from when I was little so it's awesome to be able to see the same with the next generation.

14/52

Charlotte had a fabulous first Easter. We kicked it off by visiting the Easter bunny, which I was a little concerned about. I wasn't sure how she would do because lots of kids are afraid of the Easter bunny. She ended up doing just fine though, probably because she didn't look back at the bunny.
That bunny is a little creepy looking

Is there something on my head?

Her great grandma Lillian got her this little rocking horse, which she loved. She also got to play dress up with granny, she had a great time.

6/52 (Valentine's Day edition)

19 weeks
Charlotte is so fabulous she had multiple Valentine's Day outfits, these were just the two that I got pictures of her in! So we all had an interesting Valentine's Day this year. It started off with Jim playing a round of golf with a buddy, then he watched CJ while I went to lunch with a girlfriend. That may not sound like the typical romantic couple-ish thing to do, but we made up for it by ordering pizza that night and eating chocolate candies in bed ha!

So anyway, I chose to spend my baby-free lunch at Piranha Sushi, which is my second favorite sushi place in Austin (first being Uchiko of course). Well this place is downtown, and there was a special event going on at the time so roads were closed and traffic was atrocious.

We sure did enjoy our sushi, I mean just look at that picture! Traffic was so awful though that by the time we got back from lunch, CJ was starving and poor Jim couldn't do anything for her while she had a meltdown. :(

Lessons learned: Always check traffic on googlemaps before venturing into downtown Austin, and always leave a bottle of milk even if I only plan on being gone an hour.

The good news is that both Jim and CJ recovered from their traumatic experience, I may just need to find a favorite sushi place that is closer to my house.

Have yourself a married little Christmas

Although this is Jim and I's 6th Christmas together, this one is very special because it is our first Christmas as a married couple. One tradition that I waited to start until now was sending out a family Christmas card and here is our first one!

My cousin Laura took this photo and it was the only one out of literally a hundred where both the dogs were looking at the camera. Who knew taking a photo with your pets could be so difficult.

Happy holidays everyone!
